CFO 2012 30 Day Paleo Sprint

In order to help ring in the New Year with a healthy and motivated start, CFO is announcing a 30 day Paleo Sprint nutrition challenge. 30 days will go by fast, making this a quick and intense challenge. We are making the guidelines basic and fun so, it will be very effective; just like CrossFit! This is a point based challenge and whoever has the most points at the end WINS. Points will be given as follows:

- Posting daily journal of intake on the Overload Nutrition Group Facebook Page. 1 post per day. (5 points)
- 100% Paleo for the day (3 points)
- Daily intake of Fish Oil (2 point)
* Bonus Points: Posting a Paleo Recipe each Wednesday (2 points)

As you can see, most of the points come from the daily journal. One of the most important aspects of any successful nutrition plan is documentation and tracking of your intake. Check the Nutrition Group Facebook Page for an example of what your daily journal post  should look like.

Your daily journal of intake will be on the “honor system”. We aren’t going to get super nerdy about what constitutes Paleo. Just make sure you are eating lean meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, a little starch, and NO SUGAR. We also want to stay away from all dairy, grains, and processed foods. The only exception will be Post-WOD supplements and protein powder. To exclude those items would be silly.

Daily intake of Fish Oil has been scientifically proven through countless clinical studies to help with weight loss, reduce inflammation, and reduce the prevalence of vascular and neurological diseases. Basically, you need to be taking Fish Oil and this will be a great motivator for those of you who aren’t currently taking a daily dose. We aren’t going to require any particular source or dose, just make sure you take some every day and journal it.

Wednesday’s posting of recipes won’t require an original recipe. Just mention the recipe’s source if its not an original.

There are a total of 300 points to be earned and an additional 8 Bonus Points for posting of recipes. The bonus points are to help those who may have a cheat for a celebratory event, etc.

There will be a $10 buy in, which will go towards prizes for the winner. Best original Wednesday Recipe will also receive a small prize. An envelope will be posted at CFO for you to sign up and put your money in. Any updates and further info will be posted on the Facebook page. The Sprint starts January 1st, so get your cupboards cleaned out and fridge full of Paleo goodness. This is going to be a fun and supportive challenge! The countdown is on so, enjoy your yule logs, egg nog, and New Year’s Eve concoctions.
